What is an Instagram Creator Account?
Instagram wants to give back control to the influencers and this is one way of doing that. Today, traditional ads have been replaced by influencer collaborations and sponsorships.
A lot of the social media strategy revolves around this. Instagram took this into consideration and put in the tools needed for influencer’s specific needs.
Instagram heavily relies on photos and videos and influencers are best at marketing and reviewing a particular product on the platform. It is hands down, the best place for brands to showcase themselves.
Switching to a Creator Profile helps in having flexible profile controls, access to growth tools and simplified messaging.
The platform is making it easier for its most valuable users to navigate and have the upper hand.
Here’s what we know of the update so far:
#1. Simplified Messaging
While influencers rule the roost here, there is a lot going on behind the scenes. They are constantly bombarded with hundreds of direct messages, comments and much more.
The update comes with high-quality filters that allow them to limit the number of people that can directly interact with them, prioritize messages from friends and brands. Influencers have more control over their inbox now.
It encourages only genuine connections as brands will have to get past the filters in the new update.
#2. Flexible Profile Control
Now that influencers have control over who and how people reach them, let’s look at the other options for them.
They can now apply how they are being contacted. This helps filter out cold messages and boosts useful collaborations and conversations.
Influencers can fortify meaningful contacts like this.
Shopping on Instagram:
Users now can directly shop from the creator’s profiles instead of sending them a DM about where to purchase that cute top from.
Creators can tag products so the users can purchase directly without going to the brand’s feed. Influencers are great at creating content and what a great way for Instagram to put the ball in their court!
Are you excited for this new shopping experience?
#3 More Growth Tools
Instagram Creator Profile comes with analytics so influencers can track their progress accordingly.
The platform is testing out a new Instagram Creator Studio Dashboard that allows creators to analyse data on a daily to weekly basis and plan their posts, stories and content on IGTV.
Engagement and reach are the top key factors for an influencer and this update helps with that.
Even though these are available on the Instagram Business Profile this update makes it easier to work from a desktop. They can collate all this information and readily share with sponsors and brand partners.
Is the switch worth it?
The Instagram Creator Profile update is still in its beta stage and we are yet to see how it performs once it unfolds. It can make or break the game for influencers rolling out unique content for their users.
Although this is great news, there are some downsides to this update. The Creator Profiles are not connected to Instagram API, this simply means that third-party apps will not be able to interact with Creator Profiles and features such as analytics tools and publish later will not be available here.
The one biggest advantage to the switch is influencers have more information available with them.
So, are you making the switch?
